Category: FireWire Adapter Cable

This FireWire 400 to FireWire 800 adapter cable allows you to connect devices that use a standard 6-pin FireWire 400 cable to a FireWire 800 (9-pin) port.

The adapter features a 9-pin male FireWire 800 connector that plugs directly into a FireWire 800 port, with a 6-pin female FireWire 400 socket on the other end to accept an existing FireWire 400 cable. This makes it ideal for extending the life of legacy FireWire equipment without replacing cables.

Fully compliant with IEEE 1394a and IEEE 1394b standards, the adapter supports data transfer speeds up to 800 Mbps, limited by the connected devices and ports. It is suitable for use with professional audio interfaces, digital video cameras, external storage devices and legacy Apple or PC systems.

The short 20cm cable design reduces strain on ports and helps maintain a tidy workspace. Plug-and-play and hot-swap compatible for convenient connection and disconnection.

Features:

• FireWire 400 to FireWire 800 adapter cable

• 6-pin female to 9-pin male connectors

• IEEE 1394a and 1394b compliant

• Supports data rates up to 800 Mbps (device dependent)

• Ideal for audio, video and data transfer devices

• Compact 20cm length

• Plug and play, hot-swap compatible

Amelia ★★★★★

Plugged this into my MacBook's FireWire 800 port and it instantly recognized my old external hard drive. The 6-pin female connector fits snugly, and the 20cm length keeps things tidy on my desk.

James P. ★★★★★

The 20cm length is perfect for keeping my external hard drive close to the laptop without a tangled loop of cable. Connected my old FireWire 400 drive to a newer MacBook's 800 port instantly and it recognized the device on the first try. Solid build quality on the 9-pin male connector too.

Ellie N. ★★★★★

Was a bit worried this wouldn't work with my older camcorder, but the 9-pin male end snapped right into my Mac's FireWire 800 port and it recognized the drive instantly. No dropped connections during a 2-hour video transfer.
